Course Overview
This treatment is undertaken to treat the very fine unsightly capillaries normally found on the legs by Injecting Sclerosants into superficial veins. Sclerotherapy remains the most reliable to remove these capillaries and it involves injections with a sclerosing fluid into these veins.
The solution causes the lining of the vein to swell and become ‘sticky’ and sticking together, thus blocking blood flow to the area.
It is a fairly pain free procedure and clients can resume their normal activities immediately. Compression stockings are worn for 5-7 days to retain pressure on the veins and to keep the blood from re-entering the veins and to keep them closed.
When the stockings are off, the area treated may look slightly bruised and the veins may look worse before they look better but there is a 80% success rate, with the veins fading gradually over a 6 month period.
